Our trip to Bay Area Children’s Theatre was a very fun and creative experience for our 2-year old. This trip is our first ever to any musical or live performances, which my 7-year old equally enjoyed. The performances are based on popular rhymes, kids song to traditional storybook stories enacted by volunteer adult actors with some great props, and sets.
Performance room was small and but good enough for toddlers to enjoy the show. There were not many kids which also gave a chance for the little ones to interact and have fun with the performers. So it was not a surprise which performance we wanted to attend at the Bay area Children’s Theater. The performance we went to was in Oakland.
Wheels On The Bus was the musical that we choose. Who does not like Wheels on the Bus?
From get go kids were made comfortable. The performers welcomed the kids and started playing the with them with some toys available.
From get go kids were made comfortable. The performers welcomed the kids and started playing the with them with some toys available. There were three artists in the show. Children found performers to be very amusing. What I loved about the show has they had some fun props for kids like building blocks, gears, etc.? Throughout the performance the kids were engaged. Children were welcomed to join in to sing, dance, touch and use various objects.
The Theatre does not have any seat couple of chairs for some adults. Seating for kids was more like preschool circle time setup. The circle time kind of set up also gives children a chance to move and engage with actors as the show goes on like my daughter did(above)!!
The overall visit to Bay Area Children’s Theatre was a unique experience for my kids. The performances were totally designed for young children(audience as they call) ages 0-4 years, with moments of interactive engagement throughout.Do your kids love story times? Then the kids will love this live performance!
