Sheep, Cows, horses, pigs and other farm animals are indeed very popular and particularly liked by toddlers. Kids instantly love the sounds that farm animals make when we introduce to them. It’s no surprise that we parents teach them about farm animals during their first years as toddlers. Our first attempt would be to teach them about the how they sound?. Like the Pig says ” Oink oink”, Sheep Says “Baa Baa” , Cow says “Moo Moo”. We also make an excellent attempt to make it fun for the little ones. As kids grow up these remain as our fun memories.
Reading a book about farm animals would be a great way to spend time with your toddler. I have recently come across Night Night, Farm by Amy Parker. It’s a beautiful board book with awesome illustrations. The board book cover was really attractive. In the book, the farm animals would do one last thing before they go to bed and say night , night to their mommies and daddies.
Product: Night Night, Farm
Age group: 15 months and up
Quick Summary: kids will enjoy reading it!.
Book starts with line,
“The sun sinks low down on the farm,
So for now, we’ll say, ‘night night‘
And sleep until the rooster crows
To wake the morning light”
As mentioned the illustrations are beautiful and they are spreads that cover both pages with beautiful scenes and cute animals. At the end of each page the animal sounds are included and when reading the book parents can make these fun sounds. The part I loved about the books is the illustrations include the farm families(Mom’s, dad’s and Siblings). Kids can totally relate to these.
My daughter loved our story time. She was super excited when she saw the pigs taking a bubble bath. She started saying ” bubbles, bubbles”.
My little one with her favorite Teddy’s and totally excited Pig and their bubble bath!
There are few illustrations and rhymes which did not make sense to me. Like Owl saying night, night . Why would owls say night, night ? they are nocturnal(meaning they are awake in the night!). That said would children really care about this?;) certainly not!
Overall the book was put together well. A very fun bedtime story with beautiful illustrations and lines which the little ones can totally relate to
